"I love my community, and I have great faith in our justice system. Please keep an open mind and let me have my day in court. I deserve a fair trial, like every any other American citizen. I will be acquitted and vindicated when the truth is told."

Life after the “Not Guilty” verdict

Thursday, June 16th, 2005

Oh… I am watching the 8TV advert for Malaysian Idol… and I could not believe my eyes and ears that there’s a Michael Jackson impersonator in the audition. Oh boy!! Sad to say but….. he sounded awful! I have a bad feeling that he’ll be heavily critised……

Well.. today’s my first day of work after 3 weeks of study-break. Was pretty lazy though, and the aura of working is just not there. I was lost in "translation" for a moment… I had an hour of settling myself down and fit myself into a different environment. When I saw my table, it was full of files. Thankfully, those are not audit files that are waiting for me to be cleared… but those are the files for KEYS (Kelab Ernst & Young Sarawak). So as you know, I am the newly-appointed Treasurer for KEYS for 2005 - 2006. An official hangover will be conducted next Wednesday…. but my work officially starts today, as a Treasurer that is.

Well, everyone in the office was very welcoming… and I am glad to see a ‘complete’ office… where, at least, almost everyone is back from their study leave. The noise just made me feel so much like I wanna made it noisier… you know…. ;)

Despite all the highs and lows in the office today, I am still in a jovial mood. I am still very happy on the verdict… and I am glad, so super glad that he was acquitted. What made me even happier was that, Mix FM is so Michael Jackson-friendly these few days as they kept playing his music!! Thank you! What more could I ask for…..

It is everywhere!

Money by Michael Jackson

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

This song perfectly says it all! It was written by Michael Jackson nearly a decade ago.

Money…

Lie for it
Spy for it
Kill for it
Die for it

So you call it trust
But I say it’s just
In the devil’s game
Of greed and lust

They don’t care
They’d do me for the money
They don’t care
They use me for the money

So you go to church
Read the holy word
In the scheme of life
It’s all absurd

They don’t care
They’d kill for the money
Do or dare
The thrill for the money

You’re saluting the flag
Your country trusts you
Now you’re wearing a badge
You’re called the just few
And you’re fighting the wars
A soldier must do
I’ll never betray or deceive you my friend but…

If you show me the cash
Then I will take it
If you tell me to cry
Then I will fake it
If you give me a hand
Then I will shake it

You do anything for money…

Anything for money
Would lie for you
Would die for you
Even sell my soul to the devil

Insurance?
Where do your loyalties lie?
Is that your alibi?
I don’t think so
You don’t care
You’d do her for the money
Say it’s fair
You sue her for the money
Want your pot of gold
Need the midas touch
Bet you sell your soul
Cuz your God is such
You don’t care
You kill for the money
Do or dare
The thrill for the money

Are you infected with the same disease of lust, gluttoney and greed?
Then watch the ones
With the biggest smiles
The idle jabbers…
Cuz they’re the backstabbers

If you know it’s a lie
Then you will swear it
If you give it with guilt
Then you will bear it
If it’s taking a chance
Then you will dare it

You say you wouldn’t do it
For all the money in the world
I don’t think so
If you show me the man
Then I will sell him
If you ask me to lie
Then I will tell him
If you’re stealing with god
Then you will hell him

You do anything for money

Michael Jackson : NOT GUILTY!

Tuesday, June 14th, 2005

It is over! It finally is over! I do not have to wake up every morning and check the latest development on the verdict in TV anymore… I do not have to watch the news program til the wee hours for any possibility of a verdict announcement. It is all over! Michael Jackson is NOT GUILTY of ALL THE 10 CHARGES!

When I found out about the acquittal this morning, I was so glued to the TV until I neglected my revision. I was having exam today, but hey, nothing is as important as this ( I hate to say it, but I felt that way…. hehehe).

I am happy that CNN was covering the acquittal the whole day, even up to now, as I am typing this.

There’s nothing I can do right now except for going back to my TV and continuing watching it.

Thank you to all those who stood by him all this while, thank you for not teasing nor ridiculing me for my obsession over him, thank you to those who believe in him, thank you to all those who did not condemn nor pre-judge him.

I have never been this proud, as a fan!

"Lies run sprint, truth run MARATHON!" - Michael Jackson

Lazy….

Friday, June 10th, 2005

It is 2 more days to my exam… and I am still lazying around. Been watching TV for the whole day today… then attended my office’s club AGM… then off to dinner… then now, online… then later, TV again! ahhh..

I am just so demotivated to revise this subject… 3.5 Strategic Business Planning & Development. It is an all-theory subject and I suck big time in theory papers. I know that I should put extra effort, but I don’t know why, by default, my motivation is switched-off automatically when comes the time to revise this silly subject.

Oh well, I think i better head for FRIENDS in Star World now…. ;)

Crap online connection

Just when I thought that my PC is all repaired… the virus strike again, but at least this time, it is not that malicious.

I have problem uploading my photos into my other online photo album, and having problem in opening picture attachment online. Sigh!

Michael Jackson : The verdict

Tuesday, June 7th, 2005

It has been 3 days since the Michael Jackson’s trial ended. To date, the jury is still deliberating and could not come out with a verdict. I have been following the trial… and being an ardent Michael Jackson fan myself, I too, like him, am worried about the outcome of the trial. I keep asking myself, what happened if he gets a guilty verdict (*touch wood*)? Does it mean that I will not be able to see him perform anymore? I have been waiting and waiting for a day to come… where i can at least, for once, attend his concert. I had missed so many opportunities in the past, and i told myself that I will not let the opportunity let go anymore, if I had the that chance.

I am praying hard… like all the other hardcore fans around, and keeping our fingers cross and hoping that he will be acquitted.

To all the fans who are reading this, keep the faith!

Star Wars marathon

Tuesday, June 7th, 2005

Nearly a week ago, my home’s mini cineplex was opened to my friends… for a Star Wars marathon! Yea… as my dad has all the Star Wars DVD collection, I decided to invite my friends to come over and watch Episode 1 and 2… and Episode 3 later at night in a "real" cinema.

It started off with breakfast in Toyo Corner in 3rd Mile. Had a bowl of kolo mee… a food which I have been craving for, for a long time! My personal favourite would be the one in ABC Corner and Three Hills Cafe in Sekama. After a while, NaNa decided to have ice cream ("in such early morning?!!?").. so the nearest place we could go to is McDonalds. Instead of just having NaNa buying the ice-cream.. all of us adjourned there and have breakfast… again! Yea! hahaha! NaNa was soo all excited over the mannequin of Ronald McDonald outside… and she kept pestering me to snap a picture of her with that mannequin (hmmm, her new obsession?)… and to avoid shame, she dragged a few of us to join her too… hehehheehhee… and I am one of the volunteers (ohy, look who’s talking… ) (You can see the photos in the Photo Album here and also my other online photo album)

So.. then off we went to my house… for Star Wars Episode 1 - The Phantom Menace! After the show, all of us was so ‘Jar Jar Binks’… as we converse by referring me as "mesa"… hehehe.. ;) However, the influence doesn’t last, as we were back to normal awhile later, during our lunch.

After lunch, off we went again… for Episode 2 - The Attack of the Clones! While we were watching the movie, NaNa revealed her newly-found obsession! She is in love with YODA. Yea, short, old and GREEN men turns her ON! Wonder if Shrek is one of it…. "hmmmmm…."… ;p  It looks like after every episode, we will be influenced b y gthe movie on how we converse, as this time, we spoke like YODA! hahahaa! It was really hard to twist the sentences around though, so some of us tend to have this lag in between response. Kinda funny!

Then in the evening, at 7.30pm…. off we went for the last bit of the marathon, for Episode 3, that is. When the movie started with its typical text-intro, all of us was laughing, cause it is like deja-vu.. we have see the same intro twice, earlier in the day. Then came the fighting sequence of Yoda with Senator Palpatine… ahhhh, I can see the intense look NaNa had. She was squeezing her palms, her legs was shaking, her eyes were bulging out, and her heart bit was visible from her left chest. All of us comforted her when Yoda was defeated. We all understand the pain she has to endure.. seeing her love one got hurt. Not sure if there were any tears rolling down her cheek… nor whether were there any Kleenex around. If she had it, she hid it well.

I really doesn’t want the day to end. So I decided to drag the day a little longer and we all end up have a dinner in the Petanak Market.

Well, every beginning has an end… so we bid our so-called "Star Wars Marathon" Day a farewell. The marathon indeed brought advantages to us… having to watch the earlier prequels helped us more in understanding the plot. At least we know who is who, and where is where. You know, Naboo can be a name for a sexual position. Palpatine could be a name for an energy drink… you know… ;p

Well… it really was a great day and I had no regrets for abandoning my study for a day for this experience. May the Force be with you… ;p
